Be The Match, which manages the largest and most diverse bone marrow donor registry in the world and is a partner of the CAA, had a strong presence during the game. Kim Burrows tossed the coin prior to the game.
The Towson University women's basketball team was recognized for winning the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) championship last season. The team received their championship rings in August and enjoyed the opportunity to share their accomplishment with the fans. Head coach Diane Richardson also did a halftime interview with Spiro Morekas.
Towson mustered 470 yards of total offense, including 304 on passing and 166 on the ground during a thrilling 52-45 overtime setback to Villanova. Tom Flacco had a hand in most of Towson's production with 414 yards of total offense, going 21-for-42 in the air for 304 yards, a touchdown and an interception plus 110 yards of rushing, scoring a touchdown on the ground.
Towson drew 9,568 fans for the game, the 10th-largest attended Tiger football game ever at Johnny Unitas® Stadium.
"I'd like to thank the Towson faithful," Towson head coach Rob Ambrose said. "The people that filled the stands tonight and made a whole lot of noise made a difference in the game. This is how Saturday night football is supposed to be, and I hope to see more."
